Don't even take a chance on checking in used paraphernalia no matter how hard you clean it it'll probably be caught. Buy a new pipe and, grinder and leave the dirty ones at home.

Flying international? Hit a headshop when you get to the US and buy some cheap ones and toss em before you leave, not even remotely worth the risk
