  1. I'm pissed of cause I'm broke. To tell the truth, I'm not broke! I'm just having trouble making money. I'm a musician that can't figure out this equation! How do I get people to give me money for my music? I've been doing this for a while now, with numerous project. Here's the latest one : http://www.official.fm/lowfi . I'm just soooooo frustrated that I'm having trouble getting my on family and friends to back me. It sucks! When I'm on the train people rather give a dollar to a bum that will give it right back system, than support an artist that's passionate about his or her craft. I don't want money just to go and buy anything and everything I want! I'm building a system that will allow the money people invest in me to come full circle? We are all connected, why can't we think a little harder and defeat the people who take advantage of us? People are soooooo programmed it's mind-boggling. All I hear people around me say is that they're broke at the same time they're buying any and everything with no vested interest. But when I approach them with an idea or with a plan, it's ignored. It would be one thing if I was a bullshitter, but if check my music and you can see I'm serious. I started my own label, built a band and production team around it, but still no supporter. Only haters and jealousy. A dollar can't even buy you a cup of coffer in NYC, but It could get you affirmations that will transform your life for the better through my music. It's like there's no room in this world for positivity and love. I'm starting to feel like you have to be foul to get paid, and that's depressing to me. I believe In myself so much that, I refuse to submit to the system and work for a crap job just for crumbs. I've been working since I was 14 and now I'm 30, it's whack when you get caught in the rat race. Last time I checked I lived in Amerika where people are suppose to go for a dream. I know I can make it! It's in my blood. My cousin invented the Super Soaker along with a bunch of other stuff and he's been my inspiration as of lately to never give up. I can't help that I have this feeling that I'm destined for greatness. Thank you to anyone who took time out to read this, and I hope you can relate. Please feel free to contact me if you have a dream that you're working on. I need to know people who think like this because I want to build. Also don't for get to check : http://www.official.fm/lowfi . Give a dollar please? 2. You're broke because you expect your dream job to immediately be successful. You're going to have to do a few shit jobs to pay the bills while you make music until you hit it big. And your cousin is Lonnie Johnson?

Most artists take actual jobs until (if?) they get on their feet in their industry. I suggest you do that.

  5. I haven't listened, is it normal alternative music? Contact bands playing local shows and ask if you can open for 500 bucks or something.

  6. Lol dude, well over 99% of musicians have side jobs. Unless you make it big so will you.

You gotta realize, your desired profession has no tangible output. You dont really produce anything. You have to basically rely on donations.

I'm a musician as well and I dream of making it big but I always have a plan B because no matter how much you want it there's always that chance that it might not happen for whatever reason. I'm still working a job that pays me well and I still get to create and jam out with my band more than enough times without my job being in the way of that.Sent from my iPhone using Grasscity Forum
