Young Butterflies Trick Ants Into Raising Them

  1. Interaction between different insect species blows my mind sometimes.

There is a species of ant that raids other ant colonies to steal their larvae. The raiding ants then use these kidnapped ants as slaves.

  2. Damn, that's some crazy stuff, especially that last part. I'd have liked to have seen a video of that.

They're actually going to be talking about this tomorrow on Science Friday on NPR if anyone's interested.

  3. This is evolution right before our eyes, higher forms of intelligence is spreading to more and more species.

  4. no, we are just noticing more....all life has higher intellegence as we define it,,, all life is conscious... has a 'self'

  5. cool i'll have to try to catch it
