Winter growing in Bay Area

Discussion in 'First Time Marijuana Growers' started by muleskinner, Dec 16, 2008.

  1. I'm an absolute novice to growing and this forum. Growing inside is not an option, so I am planning to go guerrilla and find a nice plot outside in the regional park. I have two questions:
1: I've read that (depending on the source of the information) you should plant between April and July. I live in the Bay Area, and according to http://www.worldclimate.com the minimum temperature for any given month doesn't drop below about 43 degrees, well above freezing. Does this mean I could plant earlier, say in Jan/Feb?
2: What is a good strain for a newbie like me to grow outdoors? I've been looking at Big Bud, which is supposed to be easy and resilient with good yields, and Early Misty or Special.

    Thanks for your help!
