Will biking cause unwanted weight loss?

  1. Hey guys and gals, so I'm 6 weeks into my weight gain program which consists of eating a lot of big calorie foods and a 3 day split workout. I am a skinny hard gainer and have only gained 6lbs so far. I'm a little over 6 ft and 151 lbs. I want to start biking on the dirt roads around my house and maybe some trails. Will this help build bigger leg muscles? Also will this burn a lot of calories and make me lose weight. I don't want to do this if it burns all my calories which I need desperately if I am going to gain weight. Thanks

  2. Bottom line on losing/gaining weight:

Calories Consumed > Calories Burned = Weight Gain
Calories Consumed < Calories Burned = Weight Loss

As long as you're eating more calories than you are burning, you won't lose weight no matter what you are doing. Actually, cardio will help you gain muscle mass more efficiently so as long as you're consuming more than you are burning.
