Hey GC, so a friend of mine and I love to go out on the backroads behind our campus on these gravel roads and listen to music and have multiple discussions on artists and producers...you get the point lol. But one of our biggest discussions is who is the best producer? The two we compare most is Kanye West and Dr. Dre. We also talk about producers like J Dilla, 9th Wonder, DJ Quik, NO ID and much more. In that whole group, we came to the conclusion that right now Kanye is the best producer. When you look at his albums, each one of them, INCLUDING 808's went platinum. The College Dropout and Late Registration went triple Platinum. Not to mention the beats he sold to many great artists have been hit songs. Plus he's actually a better rapper than most people give him. I agree when people think he's a complete asshole and is way too cocky, but he actually has a lot of great verses. Whether you agree with me or not, I simply just want to know what other music lovers think about some of our hip-hop producers. And hopefully we can have some great discussions throughout the thread. I'm old so I'd say the guys who made the stuff for Public Enemy way back when..... Prince Paul is also very good and very underrated. He's a legend in my books.
Big K.R.I.T produces his own beats too. I''m tempted to say Stoupe The Enemy of Mankind but I'm not sure.

Doctor Dre is a professional producer that can make his own beats, lyrics, etc....and is even skilled with a sampler
