i'm trying to think of a modern guitarist who could handle taking on something as massive as voodoo chile from electric ladyland. i don't mean slight return. i think we've all heard that one covered with some success. i'm talking about the blues jam which is in my opinion maybe the most psychedelic piece of music i've experienced. i'll link what's available on youtube so you can listen to it if you so desire [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bXqxXrjoOf0&feature=PlayList&p=BD66717879226CCA&playnext=1&playnext_from=PL&index=31]YouTube - Jimi Hendrix - Voodoo Chile (Not Slight Return) Part 1[/ame] [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mm1HCl0AcpE&feature=PlayList&p=BD66717879226CCA&index=32]YouTube - Jimi Hendrix - Voodoo Chile (Not Slight Return) Part 2[/ame]
me neither lol. i was really impressed with the lead guitarist from umphrey's mcgee. i saw him do shine on you crazy diamond this past summer at all good and i was really blown away. can't really compare david gilmour to jimi hendrix though.

ahh man i can't believe i missed him at bonnaroo. i had never heard of back door slam so i skipped it.
agreed but, if i had to choose i would say... either Kenny Wayne Sheppard or Frusciante or maybe someone like Joe Bonamassa or there is always buckethead, he can play anything
SRV no doubt. i wish he was still around. sometimes i swear jimi creeps through his fingers [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tWLw7nozO_U"]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tWLw7nozO_U[/ame] jimi at 54 seconds in haha.

Dimebag FTW! Prince is next in line if Dimebag can't do it. I think it'd be hiliarious to see either one play it.
