    Hello all!
Welcome back to those of you who are following me here from my first grow
First Grow, First Journal, and First of Many Questions!
And warm greetings to those of you who are checkin out my journal for the first time! 20190410_003121.jpg

This is my second grow which will consist of 3 White Widow Autoflowers and one nonfeminized photoperiod Gelato #41.

    Lightsource: 800W LED Grow Light
Exhaust: 4" in line fan w/ carbon filter
    Intake: 6" duct fan w/ 2" reducer
    Humidifer w/ humidisat control
    Medium: Fox Farm's Ocean Forest
Nutrients: Fox Farm's GrowBig at 1/4 strength
Containers: Three 5 gallon air pots; One 3.5 gallon plastic
    Environment: 72°F at 60% RH(For Veg)

The White Widow in the red pot and the Gelato are both halfway through their 2nd week of veg,
while the other 2 Widows have been vegging for exactly a week. 20190410_003303.jpg
The plants have been in their current tent for only 2 days; prior to this they were in my closet in the same fashion of my first grow. I wish I would have moved them sooner because I can tell the plants are loving all the new reflected light!
I understand that there is much debate on whether to top autoflowers or not. I decided to give it a shot and topped the widow in the red pot 3 days ago. She didn't seem to notice and is responding well! 20190410_101700.jpg

I also started my first try and LST on the gelato. I'm using pipe cleaners for this application, and although it doesn't look pretty, I think I got the right idea! 20190410_101755.jpg

For those of you who have tips or suggestions, please let me know what they are:love-m3j: I need all the help I can get!

  2. Good evening everyone, Happy Easter!
My 2nd grow has been going exceptionally well so far, despite a sad accident that occured a few days ago :GettingStoned:
My oldest Widow now on day 32 has been growing extremely well and is going to have a nice even canopy. Aside from topping it, I haven't trained this one at all 20190420_095610.jpg

The photo gelato #41 has been kind of a learning project for me. I've been experimenting with LST, defoliation, as well as multiple toppings and have been happy with how it's coming out! She never seems to notice and continues to grow well! 20190420_095625.jpg 20190420_095544.jpg

As you can see in the back right corner, I had a little incident with one of the 2 week olds. Prior to the formation of plants you see above, I had the youngest ones in front. Needless to say I learned my lesson about reaching over delicate plants to water the stronger ones:blush:
    20190421_221246.jpg
This really sucks cause I now have less than 2 weeks left to veg it out before it starts to flower. Oh well, ya live and ya learn! I'm quite interested to see how it'll turn out

  7. Hello all,
I noticed some funky looking yellowish discoloration on some of my Gelato's fan leaves 20190422_103912.jpg I removed each leaf that had this issue, in the hope that it doesn't spread. What exactly am I looking at here? I've been keeping my RH less than 60% throughout this grow.
Luckily none of the Widow ladies are afflicted with this.
Any help would be immensely appreciated!
    Joe

  8. Whilst I await your answers I'm gonna go pick up some organocide!

  9. Morning everyone, just a quick little update here!
    20190427_225101.jpg
The red pot WW is on her 10th day of flower and boy does she fuckin stink already!:pimp:
    20190427_225154.jpg

The plant I accidentally decapitated is making a decent vegetative comeback, and the other healthy 3 week old Widow is showing her preflowers and is most likely gonna start getting huge this next week:hello:
I successfully fixed the yellow spotting issue on the Gelato#41 with some Organocide I picked up at the local home depot. I simply mixed a quarter fluid ounce of the concentrate into a 32fl oz spray bottle and gave the top and bottoms of the leaves 2 sprays each before lights out. The smell from this solution wasn't that bad at all and it definitely fixed the issue I was having.

I ready many negative reviews about people who used organocide on their plants. I believe these individuals were way too liberal with either the concentrate or just spraying in general. I also believe that many people make the mistake of using organocide when they're in full on flower mode. Although the bottle says it's safe to use when flowering, I think it's best to use in the veg state before any serious problems arise, whether its pest or fungus.

See ya guys soon, happy growin!:weed:

Good afternoon everyone, it's been a few weeks!
Since the hot weather finally hit Chicago, I was having quite a difficult time keeping the temps down in my tent. This was due to the fact my setup was on the west side of the house on the top floor. Even with the AC on, temps in the tent reached as high as 90°, so I decided to move my operation down to the basement:bolt:
    20190528_152930.jpg
I'll start things off with my eldest, the red pot White Widow which is 2 days shy of her 6th week of flower
    20190528_152722.jpg 20190528_152837.jpg 20190528_152659.jpg
Unfortunately this plant was already in flower back when I sprayed my plants with organocide, so she was skipped the spraying. Eventually the yellow spotting, or leaf septoria if ya wanna be fancy, caught on to this plant. As a result of this I cut off many of her fan leaves throughout the course of a few weeks in the hope of keeping it from spreading to the other plants. The few fan leaves that do remain are quite ugly, but I figure the plant still needs something to take in energy. None of these sick leaves come in contact with the other 2 plants in the tent, so I have been successful in managing this issue.
That aside, the buds look super healthy and smell amazing!:love-m3j:

Next up are the other two 5 gallon pot white widows. First being the healthy topped one, the latter being the poor girl I nearly decapitatedX3

    20190528_152808.jpg

Lastly, the photoperiod Gelato #41. I bought another growtent to accommodate this girl so I could flip her to 12/12. She's currently on her 6th day of the new schedule, and currently has a total of 8 branches supercropped.:toke: Thank you trojangrower for your excellent write up on the subject!
This picture is from 6 days ago when I supercropped the first 4 branches:
    20190522_152515.jpg

And here it is today, with four more branches HST'd:
    20190528_150834.jpg
    20190528_150734.jpg

Although it was a real pain in the ass moving everything 2 floors down, the hardwork paid off tremendously! High temperatures are no longer a problem, and thanks to two 70 pint dehumidifiers, high humidity isn't either!:rave-girl:

See ya next time guys; I will be harvesting the red pot WW in less than 2 weeks!

  14. Hello all, I harvested the red pot WW last Tuesday. She yielded 62 grams! 20190604_133258.jpg
    20190611_184920.jpg

I will be harvesting the other widows this next Tuesday. I'm expecting a decent return! 20190611_190502.jpg happy growin

    Joe

  15. Harvested the 2nd widow today; the one that I accidentally partially decapitated 3 weeks in lol.
Needless to say, she bounced back pretty damn good! :pimp:
    Screenshot_20190618-165043_Snapchat.jpg
Yield will be posted on Saturday evening

  16. Hell, sorry it's been awhile; but I do have to ask myself if I even have an audience here :passing-joint:

The plant last pictured yielded 64 grams.

Following that was my last widow, which came in at a whopping 136 grams.
I had some beautiful colas on that one:weed:
    20190702_150354.jpg

So in total, my 3 widows yielded 262 grams. I'm quite happy with this number for my 2nd grow! I'm even more than happy with the quality.:yay:

The only plant left from this grow is the Gelato #41, which is currently going on its 7th week of flower. This thing is an absolute beast, being vegged out for 9 weeks, with around 8 branches supercropped.
I had to throw in a trellis net around week 4 of flower due to the fact the branches couldn't support the weight of the buds. I think that's an awesome problem to have!:coolalt:
    20190718_122455.jpg
In just the past few weeks, purple has been coming out on the sugar leaves, and even on some fan leaves! This was a pleasant surprise.
    20190718_122612.jpg

Well that's all for now people. I'll check back in in a couple weeks when I harvest this beaut! Gonna try my hand at dry trimming this one:jump:

  19. Hey thanks a lot friend!:pimp:
Unlike the white widow, I didnt buy the gelato seed. I actually found the seed in a nug from a half ounce bag I procured from a buddy. He claimed that the bud was Gelato #41, but I couldnt tell you that's what it is for sure. I guess thats the issue with bag seeds, ya really dont know what ya got! It does add a neat little element of surprise though:love-m3j:
The buds smell super skunky with a nice undertone of fresh fruit underneath. Absolutely can't wait to harvest this one!

  20. Appreciate the kind words!
And if ya say so; dont gotta threaten me with a good time!:gc_rocks::smiley-rolling-joint:
