I have a few plants thats are getting a thick canopy, less and less light is reaching these lower areas, I am considering to some pruning, but was looking for advice on different methods or strategies. Should I remove fanleaves to let light deeper into my plant? Should I remove lower leaves and branches to allow the top shoots to develop? Should I leave them be, and let the plant use the food in the leaves during flowering since their nice and green? Im useing HPS/CFL for flowering.
I wouldn't remove any fan leaves, you could defoliate the lower part of the plant which is callled lollypopping. try bending them or cutting just a few of the blades on the leaves off.
