Which is more preductive?

  1. I'm planning a small grow 12/12 from seed for a couple plants then cloning the best and having 1 plant eventually. Which is more predictive 150w hps or 200 watts of cfls?

  2. Well look at all the CFL's you would use, and add up the lumens each bulb puts out and check the hps bulb's lumens output, whichever one if greater will be more efficient I'd think. Also a benefit of using CFL's is that it will keep your temps down.

I think the 150 watt HPS would produce more yield, but it might also use more energy. Depends what you get, but a lot of the 150 watt HPS systems with built in ballasts are really inefficient. The packaging with mine says the ballast+bulb uses 10% more electricity than the bulb's rating, but reviews I've seen for mine say it uses way more. I think 10% more is for a descent ballast.
