When you get cotton mouth from smoking...?

  1. When you get cotton mouth from smoking, does it just give you dry mouth and make you feel thirsty or does it actually dehydrate your body?

  2. It's fairly straightforward. Marijuana tends to activate the sympathetic nervous system, which tends to block salivary gland output of saliva. The parasympathetic nervous system does the opposite, and when it is activated it makes you salivate.
