Hey grasscity peeps. First time grower looking for a little input. I've done a ton of reading regarding when to flower and I totally get there are a lot of factors in determining this. I'm hoping for a little input on my scenario since i"m not quite sure what to be looking for. So I understand one of the biggest factors is grow space. I am growing in a Space bucket so I am dealing with a limited capacity. I have been utilizing LST to maximize my yield, however it has me confused as to what height to account for. presently my plant is only about two inches off the soil, however my main stem is about 9". What's the best way to account for my flowering stretch? FYI, I've built with an adjustable light height and am about 2 feet from my max light height. Additionally I'm in an 1 gallon air-pot and plan to transition to a 5 gallon smart-pot for flowering which will give me a few extra inches. Secondly I know each strand has a specific recommended veg state. I'm growing a Fire OG Indica which has a recommended veg of 8-10 weeks. I understand that some growers will flower earlier when dealing with the limited grow space. I'm currently at 6 weeks + 4 days and had planned to flower around now-ish thinking I would need to, however I feel like there is still so much room in my bucket. FYI I had an unexpected move happen which delayed me getting the grow space set up properly and had this little guy in a South-facing window the first few weeks. Which I believe caused some stretch and stunted my nod growth. I was thinking I might stay in veg a little longer to make up for it, does that sound reasonable or are there adverse effects from a longer veg state i'm not aware of? If you are going to transplant....I highly suggest you don't do it right when you are flowering.......id say go ahead and transplant and give it a couple of weeks to get used to its new playground......and keep aggressive LST going.....you'll be ok I think.....I can't remember specifics...but when they start flowering and getting big....make sure you keep an eye on your humidity
Hey thanks! I had planned on giving it a few days, but will plan on longer before I make the switch. Any suggestions on taking down the humidity if it gets to high? It's not something I've thought about or researched!
Monitoring temperature for sure. My understanding is humidity becomes more of an issue with flowering. I fully will admit I got a little excited and started before I was really ready. I read somewhere that your first grow is not going to be successful so I figured fuck it and jumped in. Have been piecemealing things together as I go! Have good circulation with an intake fan (as shown inthe photo) and exhaust fan going out the top. Have been concidering adding one more exhaust fan when I move to flower as my dark space is a little warmer than my current grow spot and I'm concerned about overheating.
OK I am stoned! That's it. No really there is no real recommended veg time. I believe you maybe looking at flower time. In the 90's I grew sea of green. I would clone my mothers and 1 week after they all showed roots coming out of the rockwool I would flower. I would end up with a fat little plant of basically just bud. I believe I had 60ish plants in a 4x4 tray. The beauty of non auto flower is you are in control of when to flower 100%.
Excuse my mistake, I mixed up the Flower time with recommended Veg time. Might be a little stoned myself
