i have a bag of "miracle grow potting mix" and a bag of "top soil". which type should i use. as soon as i get an answer im transplanting...
I would stick with one or the other..Miracle grow has fertalizer already in it. (which you dont want). I would go with the top soil and add some Perlite, peat moss, blood meal, bone meal. I personally (when i do soil) like to have it very airy which means MORE PERLITE. Good luck
I don't know exactly what "top soil" is -- sure I've heard the term for outdoor use, but I really don't know what it would do for an indoor grow. My suggestion is to start from scratch with what you know is right. Get some organic potting soil that does not have ferts/nutes added. Here is a mix I have used:40% organic potting soil 30% sphagnum moss 20% worm castings 10% perliteAll but the worm castings can be found at Home Depot, Wal-Mart, etc. Worm castings at any garden supply/nursery or search eBay.
