What makes different strains give them such a distinct smell?

    I am curious as to what gives weed it's distinct smell? And there are so many different smells.

    like how we all got different skin and hair and voices and w/e the buds got different colours and smells

    Dunno, don't care. As long as it is tasty and gets me lit I could really give a shit less how it got its pretty smell.

    It's things called terpenes. Some are limonene (lemony smell) and pinene (pine smell).

    9 - Limonene
    10 - 1.8-Cineole
    11 - Y-Terpinene
    12 - Cis-Ocimenee
    13 - Trans-Ocimene
    14 - Alpha-terpinolene
    15 - trans-Caryophyllene
    16 - Alpha-Humulene
