What kind of light is this?

    I now this is crazy but what kind of light is this? And does anybody know why my gro-lux bulb is black on the ends? It still works fine and you only see the black when its off.

    Not sure at all but it looks like a big ass incandescent to me.

    Looks like a Metal Halide.

    Looks like a 1000w MH. That hood need to go and be replaced by something that will work more efficient.
