Amazon just fucked me over and my pH meter isn't going to be here for TWO WEEKS. And I already germed my seed. I have a liquid test kit but it only goes down to 6pH and I'm growing in coco, which is about 5pH-6pH. This is my first grow, I'm afraid I'm making the water to acidic. The brand of pH down is API. If the pH down only goes to 5pH I'm safe. If you can find out the pH it would be appreciated.
It should say on the bottle how much a given amount will lower PH. The stuff I got on Amazon says 1/2 teaspoon per gallon of water will lower PH .5. My local tap water has a PH of 7.2 so I add one teaspoon per gallon to get it down to 6.2. It is imperative to know the starting PH of your source water.
