what is the opposite of capitalism? how else can there be growth without the benefit of success?

  1. so one of yall commented about capitalism in west germany vs east germany.
do any of yall even remember east germany and west germany?
such a sad part of world historty

so i was thinking, what happens if there is no capitalism? what would be the point. would we be living in grass huts, eating game we caught hunting?

would the tv have been invented? they invented it as a "advertisers box" with programs built in between the ads
would we still be riding on horses? would anyone have been motivated to produce buggies or cars to drive if they had no "incentive"
i think there are more people who rather make money then make it a better place
has capitalism made it a better place to live?

while west german flourished and grew, what about east germany? what did they produce? what came out of that society and what was their positive contribution to the world under communism.

and where does the money come from in a communist society? is there income producing allowed under communism?
why would anyone be motivated to go to their shitty work if they have no hope that things can get better?

is there a lot of suicides under communist rule
i tell you what, the one thing that keeps me going is the fact that i live in a capitalist society

what is it like to live under communist rules?

  2. This lack of incentive was a huge issue in the Soviet economy. They had a massive workforce and vast resources, yet they struggled and failed to match American production during the Cold War. One reason for this was the companies that supplied parts to major manufacturers routinely failed to deliver orders complete and on schedule. This led to, for example, auto manufacturers trying to produce all their own parts because they couldn't rely on other companies.

So rather than enterprises specializing in the things they could do most efficiently, you had organizations taking on as many economic tasks as they possibly could, which kind of defeats the point of an economy in the first place. Central planning just doesn't punish mistakes and reward good ideas nearly as quickly as market economies can.

  3. Communalism vs Capitalism makes for interesting debates, but basically, that is all it's good for. Capitalism dominates the world economies with The US at the top. We have no equal, except for China, who's economy is now essentially capitalistic. It's time to rid ourselves of the decades old Red scare and begin to debate how capitalism can be made better for the common man.

What I don’t understand is how people can be so pro capitalism, obviously Americans have been spoonfed since birth by their propagandistic media, that “Kamyounizum is eevil”, obviously not all of them but the majority yes.

There is good traits in both systems, however a economic system that focuses on money, money and nothing but money is not beneficial for the society of any nation.

Capitalism, especially extreme capitalism from the US; Globalism thrives on making the rich richer and the poor, poorer. Think about it, price is put on virtually eveything there incluiding health, if a person doesn’t have enough money for healthcare, they’re going to die, and that’s exactly the capitalistic natural selection way. If schooling becomes with pay (besides university obviously) then how on Earth is society going to progress? When that happens I’ll only prove the truth.
Capitalism also has traits I agree with though, it offers a wide selection of brands of every product you can think of, rewards those who have a natural intellect (entrepreneurism etc) and motivates people to work more, but the handicap still exists, which I’ve stated above related to this. (Which is, that some people cannot have the luxury to obtain the “American Dream” from capitalism because they’re born with huge obstacles they have to deal with even though, they might have a lot of potential. And the list goes about negative aspects).

Communism has it’s flaws in that, because one political party is in power, and there is only one leader, the power goes to his head and it becomes a dictatorship 99% of the time. Also the fact that the state produces everything, virtually everything there is no selection, hence there is no diversity, everyone is pushed to look and dress the same as if everyone was a solider, causing a depressing atmosphere. A large sum of money goes to the state and that’s first and foremost invested in the army, which is ludacris, the taxes should focus on upragding the health care and education first and foremost. (The list goes on...)
Now the traits that are beneficial in a communist state surpass those of a capitalist one IMO, for example healthcare and education will always be free, everyone has a roof over their head, it may not be much for some people but at least it’s something (contrary to the belief not every single person lived in a same sized house, elimination of social class never was accomplished) and everyone worked, the state found you a job.

Scandinavia is by far the most progressive and economically stable region in the whole of Europe because of socialism, I truely think that by combining the economic system of capitalism with communist social aspects (free healthcare, top notch education for everyone, no private schools etc) causes a superior economic system. Look at the Yugoslavia and Nazi Germany (strictly economically) even though the latter lasted a short period because of Hitler’s colonialistic tendencies, economically it was extremely fierce.

  5. Communism’s thrive is to eliminate the social clases, yet capitalism’s aim is to create as much distance between the social classes, so you can hardly say one is better than the other.

Ironically they have something in similar, communism was at least honest and you knew that you weren’t going to advance very high in the social ladder, yet capitalism offers this utopian, idealistic nonsense that oh yeah, you can become a millionare easily, yet 90% the of time people die in the same social class that they were born into.
It’s like a totalitarian monarchy ffs, the nobles stay as nobles and the peasants as peasants.
