I dont care what others say. I bought a 6 light t-5 bloom light and have had my first harvest using em. They might not be as good as HID's, but they are a close second. But you have to use SCROG method of growing because they are still florals afterall. BUT awesome results.
Fluros are never a close second to HIDs, just like LEDs will never be a close second either. As for the question at hand, if you are forced to go fluro t5 is definatly the way to go. I use a nice little 6 tube t5 setup from hydrofarm for my clones and sprouts and have never had better results.
