What does a calyx mean?

Discussion in 'Growing Marijuana Indoors' started by regis-philbin, Mar 31, 2016.

  1. Hello everyone! Yesterday I made some posts... mostly regarding the health of my plant. Thankfully multiple sources have reassured that I am okay.

But I'm still slightly concerned over two unanswered things. One I have my own answer for. One I'm clueless still (after my own online research)

First- my plabt started showing pistils without any 18/6 or 12/12. 24 hours her whole life and she has many pistils now.
My answer to that is maybe she is just ready to switch over. So I have given her hps instead of mh and switched to 12/12.

My other question I don't have my own answer to...
What are calyx? is it a pollen sac? I'm concerned they are male parts? Am I sketching myself out? I can get pictures if needed.

As always any answer greatly appreciated!

    Love

  2. The calyx is the membrane that surrounds the seed on a pollinated plant flower , or the covering surrounding the female ovary, the part the stigmas grow from.
