5 of the 23w CFLs equals 500w. Do I really need 500 for just 1 plant or can I just do two. For reflective material can I use aluminum foil?
This is the stuff I am thinking about for flowering. http://www.gardeners.com/Flower-Fertilizer/GardenersEssentials_Cat,11629,default,cp.html Pretty good site with lots of grow lights and things of that nature. Check this out while you are over there.. http://www.gardeners.com/3-Tier-Sunlite-Garden/IndoorGardening_LightGardens,37-119,default,cp.html
5 of the 23w CFLs = 115w. Don't use foil. Use flat white paint. It's the most durable and the cheapest in the long run. (brilliant white) If you don't have a reflective surface surrounding the plant and the lights, you'll want more than 115w. That '500w Equivelent wattage' is a dumb marketing gimmick. stick to "Actual" wattage when figuring out your watts per square foot. 50 watts per square foot is generally accepted as the minimum needed to grow cannabis effectively.
