what are these things purposes?

    But really, I can help you define at least 3 of em:

    Spoon - commonly referred to as a "bowl". At least they go by that around here. Just a hand-held pipe, commonly made of glass.

    Sherlock - A pipe that has been crafted to look like the one's Sherlock Holmes made famous. Long, bending stem with a nice sized bowl on the end.

    Bubbler - A small water pipe. Functions similarly to a bong in that the smoke is filtered through some water that fills a chamber within the pipe.

    As for hammers and sidecars, they generally have a larger chamber for holding smoke, and can even filter the smoke through water like a bubbler.
