Week 5 Flower: RDWC in 3 x 4 SCROG

Discussion in 'Hydroponic Grow Journals' started by Sdh777, Jan 9, 2021.

  1. 4 plant RDWC in a 3 x 4 tent. They‘re at day 38 flower after a 5 week Veg. I lollipop everything below the SCROG and circulate tons of air in lower humidity to avoid moisture & mold.

    Gorilla Glue
    Bubba Kush
And a White Widow x Gorilla Glue cross

  2. Hi - I'd love to tag along. Beautiful looking plants!

  3. Thanks Delps!
    Day 46
Not sure if it’s noticeable, but the colas have beefed up nicely in the last week. It’s time to put up a 2nd scrog net to hold up the colas...they’re getting heavy.

I’ve also got a 3 x 3 tent I use for breeding feminized seeds. These are at day 25 & include White Widow, Gorilla Glue, Bubba Kush & GG x WW. 030E6D93-D1CB-487A-BB95-BDDCA608AEE0.jpeg

I’m spraying a few female bud sites from the Bubba Kush with Colloidal Silver to pollenate the other plants in that smaller tent. I’ll have the following crossed strains before long...
    Bubba Kush x White Widow
    Bubba Kush x Gorilla Glue
Bubba Kush x Gorilla Glue x White Widow (previously crossed)

  4. Day 52
I thinned out the foliage and the buds are still swelling up nicely. 4CB198D9-F457-470E-B8CE-3181191EF181.jpeg

  5. Very nice! Looks like you’re heading for a good crop.
I like the idea of the light under the canopy. Any idea what that adds to the harvest?

  6. I added that lower light for the bottom of the colas that are blocked by light from above due to the canopy. I just added it, but I’m hoping I t helps to avoid those light fluffy buds near the bottom that just don’t fill out, harden and mature as fast.

  9. You appear to be growing in dirt, which I have never done so I’m not the right person to ask. I have only done hydroponic grows. It looks like either nute-lock or nitrogen deficiency, but you really don’t need much nitrogen in mid to late flower, so I would post this in the soil grow section to get much better experience

  10. Killin it bro! What are you using for the scrog itself?

  11. The SCROG frame is PVC. Then I zip-tie these grates together. It’s a heavy duty lower level SCROG that gives me full control of branch direction and canopy height. My Scrogging technique is a bit different, but effective. DBEE003D-9155-4719-BBFB-B907376CA98B.jpeg

  13. I have to apologize because I’ve been really busy and started harvesting my crop before taking a final photo.
Here’s a shot after chopping down a few dozen colas.
I rarely harvest an entire crop at once. I usually chop a dozen colas at a time, 2-3 days apart. I have several strains so I put colored tape on each branch to indicate the strain.
I’m guessing I’ll get 1.5lbs fully trimmed & dry weight. Not bad for a 3 x 4 tent, but far from my best. It looks & smells incredible. There’s so much difference between the White Widow, the Gorilla Glue & the Bubba Kush in terms dankness. The White Widow smells like skunk & fruity pebbles. The GG smells like it was dipped in diesel and the Bubba Kush...that shit is just straight up dank.
In my 2nd tent, I previously crossed White Whidow x Gorilla Glue, then I crossed that with Bubba Kush. I spray colloidal silver on a female cola to get pollen sacks to create feminized seeds. The White Widow x Gorilla Glue cross is amazing, but I won’t know about the Bubba Kush crosses for another 5 months after my next grow...

  14. You get rid of everything below the net level? How many bud sites do you keep on each branch? Looking for tips is all. Looks good though, hope mine catch up to that

  15. Looks fantastic!! I used to grow in a 5x5 tent but have a 8 x 10 room now. I tried to use a SCROG method, but I found it impossible to do any type of trimming under the net once it was in place. How do you get to the read plants for maintenance?
