Watering help for transplants

Discussion in 'First Time Marijuana Growers' started by Doomwaffle, Feb 10, 2016.

  1. Just a quick question I just transplanted my seedlings into solo cups filled with coco, perlite and spangum moss. The seedlings are in 2" rockwool cubes and the taps were protruding aprox 1" out the bottom. The cubes are fairly heavy compared to a new one. So the question is should I water? Or let the seedlings use the water that's in the cube?

  2. I would water right after transplanting then don't water again till the weight of it drops back to where it is now.
Make SURE you have enough drain holes in the cup. Include holes in the bottom of the cup as well as around the bottom edge of the cup or water sits right in the bottom and the roots won't grow properly. They need to grow in search of moisture rather than just sitting in a puddle. (I learned this from past experience.)
