Work? What is the purpose? They are not cooling the smoke because the beads are room temp. I can't realy think of any reason to put them in your bong other than they look cool
I would be more worried about what gases may be given off as the heated smoke is drawn through them I did just read they are made from recycled plastic, so no I would not use them myself
