Washington, DC?

  1. I'm currently visiting.

There are a lot of sirens here, and a huge police presence. I understand why that would be, but damn it's somewhat unsettling. I've seen so many motorcades and escorts rolling through the streets.

But yeah, who lives here and do you enjoy living here? I'm just curious. I was roaming the Canadian vs American tokers thread and I didn't see many people posting from DC within in the first 20 pages, if any at all.

Seems like finding weed is difficult. I haven't been looking however, but I haven't smelled it once, or even heard mention of it. Also, the headshop in Georgetown is just stupid. $28 for a little glass one hitter? I couldn't even secure a pipe for under $10, unless the guy was lying to me.

  2. It's very ghetto..... I don't live there, but I visited. Socal born and raised! *annoying bro voice*. The only significance to Washington D.C. is if you either want to work for the federal government (or a contractor for the federal government), or you just want to visit for all the wonderful history. Have you been to the Smithsonian Museum? Fascinating stuff there. The only bad part of DC was when I went to George Washington's gravesite, I literally saw him rolling over.... I feel your pain Washington!

  3. i live in dc and have my whole life. i hate it. but i live in the hood (southeast dc) and who loves the hood? stay outta southeast man

there are a ton of cops. they have nothing better to do, but i guess it makes sense since its the seat of the US government. its a nasty place though. for being the nations capitol it really is disgusting

weed is plentiful and all over the place. only people who smoke outside though are the hoodrats. then they complain when they get scooped up by the cops  most of the weed you can find without a connect is usually schwag though

  4. Just buy a crabcake and it will make all your worries & problems disappear

  5. I've been sightseeing quite a bit; Lincoln Memorial, National Mall, and I think tomorrow is our museum touring day. I want to check out the White House too, get a picture... I wanted to hit up the Pentagon but apparently that's in VA?

I was hoping you'd post, ahaha. CREEPY right.

I'm staying at GWU currently, and the 'campus' area is pretty nice from what I have seen. Same with Georgetown. But I feel you on the hood part... I definitely came through there on the way in and damn, I felt a little unsafe.

I don't mean to drag up memories, but I wish desperately to have chilled with Lukas. Would've made my trip here a lot more interesting, to say the very least. Sigh.

AH well, I've only got till Sunday and I'm not really toking at the moment, but can definitely understand why you need an established connection here to get decent bud. My girlfriend had a tiiiiiny bit left over and it was very lovely, but unfortunately, there's none left and her one connection has left for the summer it seems.

  6. You have to know where to go. Village Arts and Crafts. They hook it up.

Wait, you didn't know that the Pentagon's in Virginia?

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Pentagon

    Arlington, VA

  7. Yeah the Pentagon is in Virginia but it's almost retarded distinguishing that from DC. I mean it's right there....

  8. Why the hell would you want to visit the Pentagon anyway? Take it from someone who lives very close to D.C./Arlington... it's not very interesting.

The Air and Space Museum is pretty cool, but the Udvar-Hazy Center is way better. The Spy Museum is also pretty cool.

  9. I guess I was just curious to see it, is all. I don't care all that much.

Village Arts and Crafts sells weed? That seems very improbable and sketchy...

I am impressed with the restaurants around here, though. Haven't been disappointed yet.

  10. It's not worth it. It's just a giant parking lot, basically. You can't get too close to the building because security's high. I think you can take guided tours of certain parts inside the building, but it's only of a very small area. They're really anal about what you bring in too (no cameras, etc).

No, they don't sell weed. They sell water pipes and other items for tobacco use only (;)) at very low prices. It's a family-owned business and the guy gives out some great deals. No $25 for a one-hitter bullshit. He also sells certain quasi-legal incense.

Oh yeah, we know how to eat around here. If you're not on a budget, check out Ray's The Steaks in Rosslyn (a part of Arlington, right across the bridge from Georgetown). It's probably my favorite restaurant ever. If you are on a budget, check out Ray's Hell Burger (owned by the same people, also in Rosslyn).

  11. Well at least DC is getting dispensaries in the near future

  12. i was under the impression that it would just be caretakers and personal grows. no dispensaries

  13. If only they could come about 5 miles South to where I live. :(

Oh Virginia, why are you so gay?

  14. its actually dispensaries, 5 of them...who knows when they'll actually be running

  15. ah thats sweet. i had heard otherwise. stoners and their misinformation haha

  16. Lived in woodbridge, va for 6 weeks while I was workimg for a radio show there in dc. Be sure to get out to Arlington National Cemetery and catch a changing of the guard cermony. Cool as hell. Well, if ur into that kinda stuff. I couldn't find any hook ups but I wasnt looking either. I was living with feds. Anyways, union pub is a cool spot and so is rocket bar. Its kinda hard to find bc its in a basement, but cool.

I cant believe dc is getting dispenceries and the rest of the nation has to worry about federal raids...

    Ain't that the truth!

But I live in Maryland, on the border of Maryland and D.C. I rarely go around the southeast/northwest area unless I have to cause I'm just not used to that type of area.

Don't get me wrong though, a lot of D.C. is cool, especially for food but the threat of violence and less than welcoming people keep me in Maryland for the most part. It's the areas they're building up for the changing demographic that are awesome. Downtown D.C. Is cool.
