Here is a poem I wrote about my favorite religion... sun-worshiping, I mean prodigal son worshiping. I feel it's still a work in progress, but this is a decent enough verse. Warrior Cult Baptize a Warrior Cult With the greatest story ever told Persuade the masses Into fearing deities Based on observable beliefs Twisted into human form Of a virgin your savior born Falsely crucified for their pity Blind to the fact, their God's not pretty Wage a million wars, just for the rake But we must, they claim, your freedom's at stake Proof of evolution, the Church's will to change Global domination, short within their range Not by the barrel of a gun But by the barrel of a pen They never see these tyrant men But they elect their puppet friends This agenda's got just one major flaw Their false prophets are just like us all This leads straight to their demise For soon enough the masses realize That they are Gods, yes we are Gods Enjoy. Critique.
First of all, I loved it. On the subject of sun worship, it seems like a sensible idea. The sun keeps us all alive, and without it we would have never formed overall. I'm somewhat curious about this prodigal son worshiping idea, got any info you wanna divulge to a possible convert? hahah. Either way I'm gonna stay a kind of athiest for now, but nature worship seems really interesting (almost like paganism)
BTW, I do not worship the sun, nor any other religion. But like you said, if there is anything worth worshiping, it'd the sun, water, and the earth. But you see, sun worshipping was practiced by many intelligent human beings for thousands of years. It was just their way of showing appreciation of the gift of life provided to us by our sun (among many other things.) With no ways of possibly knowing anything about the sun, all they could know was it was greater than them... and by all means, it is. But then... the greatest story ever told was born. A fictional story about a prophet miracle worker born of a virgin Mary on December 25th who was crucified only to be ressurected after three days. Jesus, you say? No way, Horus. The first in a long line of false sun gods whose latest prodigal son, Jesus Christ is our most recent yet only savior. very true, there is much about christianity, and judaism, that has been basically taken from previous beliefs, ie. Egyptian sun worship, Zoastrinism (sp.), paganism. So yeah, I choose to just respect and love the world we have, along with the life providing sun. No organised religion for me
