Ventilating a CoolTube

  1. So I have a 270w AgroSun HPS in a 6" CoolTube and I've decided I need to cool it.

The issue for me is that I figure I might as well set up a scrubber and vent the room at the same time. If I have the scrubber inside (small scrubber, 3x3x3 room) that ducts to the light, out the other end to the fan and out the room, how do I know the CFMs I need?

How powerful of a fan do I need to not only pull through the scrubber, but also the warm air out of the Tube?

    Thanks G's:smoke:

  2. This is what I uesd, works really well.

    Virtual Airflow Calculator

Good luck! Buy something at least 500cfm, you'll be able to use it forever and you can even upgrade lights and use the same fan if need be.

  3. it's VERY important for the fan to blow into the cooltube, not suck out of it because the heat of the lamp can warp the fan, in the worst case causing a fire...
    always blow, not suck

  4. That calculator doesn't factor in the heat resistance from the lamp or the scrubber though does it?

Good info, I'll keep that in mind!

  5. That's what she said! ha

  6. i just knew that was coming... hence the "" at the end :D
