understanding and copying commercial ferts

  1. Hi

here's what I'm trying to learn:

I have a commercial fertilizer.. it contains:

    20-20-20 NPK

    Fine..

I have loads of chem. ferts in my gardenshed.. KNO3, MGSO4, Traces, K2SO4, KH2PO4...

So.. I want to mix my own...

But getting my head around the numbers... sheez..

I can do ppm calculations off the top of my head... but converting percentages to ppm is a different matter..

Say I want to mix a 20-20-20 solution in 1000ml of water and dose 2.5ml in 1 Litre of water and use this to water my plants..

How do I convert the 20-20-20 and get my calculation correct?

TBH, I don't grow weed, but I've always found cannabis forums to be a great wealth of information when it comes to growing plants, mixing ferts, lights etc.

  2. Trial and Error ...trial and error, the experimental death toll, will be huge, a lot of effort has gone into developing current fertilizers for 'our' plants, occasionally I'm paid $bucks to trial these new bloom products, but never never on my own babies...the numbers you are running above, send a chill down my back.

For the price ...$20.00-ish is very cheap to buy a bottle of food, that will see you thru many seasons.

    peace
