Tulip Turtorial

Discussion in 'Seasoned Marijuana Users' started by Dr Adam, Dec 14, 2006.

  1. I searched but couldn't find one so I thought I'd post one.

    How to make the cone.

The tulip is made up of a stem and a bulb.
Stem - Can be made with a few different variations.
Tube - I would personally advise using this kind of stem when 1st starting out making tulips.
They are easier to work with because they are most stable.
Take a thin piece of card roughly the size of a business card.
Obviously a business card is ideal but any card will do.
Work the card into a tube about the thickness of a pencil.
Secure with a sticky strip or piece of sticky tape in the middle of the tube.
Since u won't b burning the tube it's safe to use sticky tape.
Now place this tube in a paper at least as long as the tube.
Roll it just like a joint, lick the sticky strip and seal.
Joint - This is the hardest choice of stem to roll with.
You have to make sure the joint is sturdy enough to hold the bulb but also loose enough to toke well.
Also can be tricky attaching the bulb without squeezing the joint and making it harder to toke.
The smallest joint I'd suggest rolling to hold a reasonalbe sized bulb would b in a kingskin.
Try to the the joint nice and tight in a slight cone with a nice sized roach.
If the roach is too small it'll get clogged with resin before long.
But this is true for any larger joint.
Push a pokey down the end of the joint to compress the end slightly then burn off the excess paper.
    Cone - For large tulips.
Just like the tube but using more card.
Roll into a cone shape which u think is about the right scale for your bulb.
Try not to make the end of the cone which ur gona b toking from too wide.
If the cone is really fat your going to need something to stop the weed falling down it.
If it is just big try rolling a long piece of card up into a roach and put it in the fat end.
Use thick enough card so that it doesn't just spring back as straight as possible.
If you do the end of the cone wall will just end up being thicker.
For massive cones u may need to make a grill.
Take strips of card about 1 cm wide and as long as the diameter of the end of the cone.
Make cuts in the strips 5mm long every 5mm.
Now slot the pieces together to make a grill.
Then seal with papers as with the tube.
Cigarette - Perfect for a small bulb with minimum hassle.
Work the filter out with ur fingers till u can pinch it.
Replace with a nice thick roach.
That's it. You could make a small tulip in a couple of mins with this method.

Bulb - Can be made to any size or gradient of the bulb.
Small bulb - 2 small papers
Larger bulb - 3 kingsize papers
Fatter bulb - 3 Kingsize papers
Pic your own size/shape - As many lengths of paper as you need

Fill the bulb with as much weed as you want.
If you are using a tube or cone I would put a layer of tobacco in last on top of the weed.
This will allow you to smoke all of the weed before the stem starts to burn.
Make sure there is enough left over paper to be able to attach the bulb to the stem.
Now twist the excess paper so there is no space in the bulb without weed in.
Untwist enough to allow you to push the tube right inside the bulb.
Now twist the excess paper so it is tight to the stem.
Straighten the whole thing up and make sure the stem is in the centre of the bulb.
Attaching - There are a few thing that can b used to attch the bulb to the stem.
Sticky strip - Cut or tear the sticky strip off a kingskin.
Now wrap it round the stem (sticky side down) just under the bulb.
Do this as tight as you can without distorting the stem.
Lick the sticky strip so it adhears to the paper.
Thread - Take a piece of thread, and tie it round the stem as close to the bulb as possible.
Make the knot well enough so it doesn't come undone.
If you are using a joint as the stem take the thread off as the bulb is finished burning.
Thread made of paper - Easily mage from a single kingskin.
Fold the paper over a few times lengthways leaving the sticky strip exposed with sticky side facing upwards.
Now fold over the sticky strip and lick the back.
Now twist the paper in ur fingers until you have a thin paper thread.
Use just as with a standard piece of thread.
Sticky tape - Only use this when your stem is a tube or a cone.
Wrap the sticky tape round the stem where it meets the bulb.
    Now go smoke Dutch style.

    Any questions?

  2. How is it the same?
I'd like to think mine is a little more comprehensive ;)

  3. dr adam from waytoomany? btw people.. dont need to correct this guy.

  4. its pretty much the same, just a bit less complicated.
that combined with your explanation of different types of stems just make it all come together in my mind.

  5. + rep nice tut will make one for christmas maybe...:smoking:

  6. Figured the connecting process may have been badly explained so quickly edited a video.
