LOL. This is my first time observing trichomes and I could swear some of them that were completely cloudy went to a translucent stem and head as the head turned amber.
Trichomes on different parts of the bud or plant may be different colors. If you have observed them going clear from amber I'd say look again. I'm not saying you didn't see that, but it would be unusual.
