  1. Hey guys, my first post here.
So I'm from Australia, I grow a few outdoors each year, not overly serious but just try new things.
So this year, instead of hydro nutrients, I've installed milk bottles, with the bottom cut off and a few holes in the lid and have them buried in the pot beside the plant.
I place fruit and veg scraps in there and water it in.
Also add in a Charlie carp water once a week.
3 weeks in and lookin ok I reckon, thoughts? ImageUploadedByGrasscity Forum1445497894.434998.jpg

  2. If I'm not mistake you shouldn't put organic matter in unless it's composted.
Personally I wouldn't have that milk bottle. If you're growing in a pot you don't want it to be soaked all the time. You want it to dry out

  3. Sorry should have stated I put about 200 worms in too from the farm to break down the food, it doesn't last long, also it does dry out, that bottle doesn't hold liquid more than 5 mins

  4. Alright, personally I still wouldn't of done it but that's your call :)
And Gotcha! I thought you kept the bottle filled

  5. Never heard of putting worms in the "pot"

  6. It's supposed to help aerate the soil with the tunnels they create, but in addition to the worm castings they would make it would just cause compaction
