Treating men like pedophiles

1. This is fucked up..but I wouldn't have a problem moving. But I would definately let it be known I'm not a pedo..

You don't think others on the flight have knowledge on these policies. This action could easily be taken the wrong way and have people looking at you like your really a ped.

Unfourtunate. But like some one said they would be doing me a huge favor by moving me from two little jerks

Is it not true that a majority of pedophiles are men?
Is it not true that guys don't get over emotional and call rape if their relationship ends badly?

3.
There's more to it than just airplane seats though.

Any men here ever try to hang out at a playground? :p

This was posted on Reddit a while ago...

There are a lot of men who don't feel comfortable even liking kids because of how people might take it.

Yeah, I'm sure a majority of pedophiles are men. A majority of rapists are men. A majority of serial killers are men.

But it's pretty sad that some people look at every man as a potential baby raping serial murderer.
That's so sad my daughters 3 man I feel for him..

4. Its easy to use a kid to attack someone in a lawsuit, whether you can prove it or not, do they have no choice but to trust the word from a child? (michael jackson is a good case in point) Its preventative measures so a child doesnt get made to feel uncomfortable by some pedo, but you can also see it as protection for men from false accusations as well, thats how I would see it if I was a man. I read about a lot of complaints of how unfair the judicial system is towards men but no real efforts being put forward to fix it... take this as a good thing, and like someone said before, why would you fight to be allowed to sit beside a minor anyways?

7. This is full out bullshit...... For the parents of the kids, you should be just as equally ashamed as the airline company..... Treating men as pedophiles as just as worse as being a pedophile itself..... Fuck western nations for portraying men as pedophiles. The only time that guy should be moved, if he wanted to move away from the kids. They should have just moved the kids, rather than the guy.

Also there would be like zero chance that anything can go wrong, and if anything is bound to go wrong, on a full flight, someone would intervene.... if i have a kid, i would trust anyone, since its on a plane, and if they are in trouble, there help on the plane.

Overall QANTAS has the same policy as well.....

My overall point...... fuck Australia and western nations

8. It's just the principle that rankles me. It's not that I would mind being moved away from annoying little kids, it's just it really sucks being told "You can't sit next to these kids because we're afraid you might molest them".

Seriously, if they're concerned, why not just keep an eye on those kids? What the fuck can a guy do on an airplane? He has nowhere to go, he can't touch the kids without them screaming bloody murder anyhow.

This is just retarded overprotective bubble wrap thinking. Kid's aren't retarded. They can do stuff independently at that age if parents just let them. It's great for their development to learn to operate independently early on.

9. i get hot and bothered thinking about kids, better not let me sit next to any, specially not on a plane.

10. That is a reasonable policy.

11. All it really takes is some education on the parents side.

"Honey, you're going to be alone on a plane tomorrow. So just for the record... if you're sitting next to some guy and he tells you to come with him after you get off the plane because he has an entire van filled with puppies and cotton candy, DON'T DO IT, HE'S GONNA RAPE YOU."

Yeah for once you and I are on the same page. The principle is what I can't stand either

13. Rofl, seriously. These kids were like 10, they weren't like toddlers, they can think for themselves. They're not helpless. They more vulnerable than adults of course, but at that age they're smart enough not to go with a stranger.

I think the world just needs to light up a spliff and chill. I refuse to live in fear. If I ever have children I'll let them fly alone when they're 10. Why not?

14. Everyone can sit here and say its a reasonable policy, until it happens to you. The way I see it with me shit happens or hits the fan with me at absolutely the worst times for me.

Agreed again

When I was ten I knew what sex was I had found porn stashes of my uncle as a kid. Hell at 8 I smoked a joint reach of his with his younger brother (same age as me but adopted)

I think kids are sheltered as fuck. They stay inside and watch dumbass tv. Nobody gets scrapes or scars on nothing. All of them have clean knees no scars round fat elbows. No boy marks.. it sucks how lame kids are..well seem to have it

16. God, I could go on forever about that shit. Fucking playgrounds these days? So many moms just like "OH, MY POOR BILLY JUMPED OFF THE SWING AND BROKE HIS ARM, I'M SUING THE SCHOOL!!!"

Fucking christ, man. Kids are supposed to get hurt doing stupid shit. That's how we learn not to do stupid shit.

If I had jumped off the swing and broke my arm when I was a kid, my parents would have been like "well, that's why you don't jump off the fuckin' swing".

17.
Really though, wouldn't you be irritated if you were told you can't sit next to kids because you're a woman? That wouldn't rub you the wrong way?

I swear people believe pedophiles are lurking in every dark corner waiting to snatch their children.

What the fuck could you even do to them on a plane? If it's really that big of a deal then just leave the poor guy alone and escort the kids off when they land, that is if the flight crew can be trusted not to molest all the kids, since every adult is a potential predator right

This is some serious fear mongering bubble wrap shit.
Fuck no, if someone told me to move away from some kids I'd be happy.

But for real, it's their policy, you agree to fly with them, you agree to follow policy. It is what it is.

18. Oh yeah, I'm not saying they should be forced to change their policy, they're a private business.

But I bet that dude never flies with them again. Vote with the dollar.

19. I just don't understand why it's that big of a deal. For reals.

If a majority of pedophilia are men...does it not stand within reason that parents may be uncomfortable with their small children sitting, for hours, next to an adult man?

This way, the airplane can assure parents that their children will be safe by not allowing any grown men next to their kids.

It doesn't necessarily reflect that the airline thinks its morally right, just a good business tactic.

(Sorry for the plethora of errors. I just got done with a good cry.)

20. Well their policy is stupid, though. They could have done it better, rather than to tell that guy he's a pedo and should be moved
