Too hot?

  1. hey guys

what's a "normal" temperature for an idling computer? or one that's under load?

my ccc tells me I get up to 75 C when I run certain games.. That's way too high right? is the catalyst control center 100% accurate or are my fans fucking up big time?

  2. For a GPU, 75c under load is norm. Can be cooler, but nothing to worry about. My GPU idles @ 36c and gets to about 55-65c under load, depending on what game I play.

  3. Is that tour CPU temp? If so what CPU are you running and what type of cooling are you using?

  4. For a high-end video card running games, that's not way too hot at all. It's on the high end but nothing to worry about. You could try to make sure you have good airflow around the card, something tells me it doesn't have a good exhaust.

Doubt it is his CPU. ccc = Catalyst Control Center = ATI Video Card software

  5. Depends, Intel runs hotter then AMD, and so does Nvidia.

On idle my AMD Dual core runs at 20*c and sometimes in the winter I seen it go to 13*c when I just fired up my computer for the day.
