To drown or not to drown

  1. I got my outdoor grow in 15gal grow bags, one for each plant.

Am I wrong in thinking that it's pretty close to impossible to actually overwater them in grow bags? Obviously I can overwater if I'm drowning them each day and such but if I really soak them every other day or more then the excess water should be just dripping out thru the bags correct?

With the bags is it still possible to give them to much water at one time as long as I take frequency into account?

  2. I lift mine to judge its weight

Its still the best way imo lol

the real fear is with root rot

  3. Keep the pot off the ground. My outdoor plants were putting out roots through the bottom because it was sitting on moist ground.

I have a 20 gallon pot that drinks maybe 2 gallons every other day. Any more than that and it drains out the bottom. I water every other day, and just moisten up the top on the in-between days.

It was getting overwatered when it was young and too small for the pot, but once the roots were established in the pot, overwatering has become a non-issue.
