it's subconscious. little hints over time get into the mind and effect decisions. You really didn't know that? Why the fuck do you think they put sexy chicks in the electric shave commercials? It subconsciously links sex to the product, and you don't actively think about it. Same with force fed propaganda little bits at a time.
I was reading some of my old history text books from high school and its amazing. Every time the federal government grew bigger and more powerful the textbook made you think that was a good thing. There is some serious brainwashing going on in the public education system.
One of my kids came home in the first grade all upset and told me he had a bad day and didn't want to talk about it. After pushing him some he told me what had happened. Another first-grader told him the US Flag was a 'special flag'. My son disagreed and it turned into a fight with this kid was was completely convinced that this was 'the greatest nation on the earth'. If a 6 or 7 y/o is already by that point so convinced about the greatness of a fucking piece of fabric... I just don't know man, but kids not pay attention to it? my ass.......
It's the notion that it gives off, not that it "works" or "doesn't work" my best friend would say the same, so I can relate to what you're talking about. But for a lot of people, those types of propaganda can land a real connection with them.. like how cigarette commercials used to simulate an active environment with lots of cool and "hip" things involved in the commercial...& what is behind cigarette smoking? You know how many assholes I come in contact with on a daily bases? It be a relief if a comet or nuclear strike flatted my neighborhood.
Even in middle school nobody in my class gave a fuck. The teacher and some ass-kisser would be the only ones to say it.
The point is as Judgements response to his children getting into an argument at school with another student - it just adds on to the heap of conditioning our schools are required to do. It's not like the teachers are anti-big government anti-establishment to sit there and preach how our government is wrong by doing this and this - they're going to tell the kids how america is great and we spread our values throughout the world - to as why were at war all the time. These kids are growing up with our country at war 24/7. the words "9/11", "terrorists" are used loosely.
