Well, let me first state that I didn't think I'd like this movie and, after watching it, my initials fears were confirmed...the movie was pretty lame. However, there seems to be some subtle marijuana advocacy message. First off, the main characters nickname (actually I am convinced the main character is his daughter but that's not the point) is "Bud". The last name of one of the presidential candidates is "Greenleaf" and Willie Nelson cameos in support of Greenleaf. Hmmmm....of course Willie is pushing for a guy with the name Greenleaf Then there is even a quick shot of a banner that says, "Marijuana is Medicine" when a bunch of people come into their town to convince Bud to push for their cause. I don't know, maybe it's just me, but I feel like the makers of this movie might have been doing some behind-the-scenes smoke-outs.
