I propose we all make a list of what we would like to see change in our government. I will update this post whenever someone adds to the list. A lot of us feel there is something fundamentally wrong with our U.S. government. A lot of people want a change. Some people want a revolt. Many of us have been discussing the idea of a revolution. Few of us know where to start a revolt.

I would like us to begin putting our thoughts together. We are all human beings from all walks of life. All of our opinions should be respected and treasured. If we disagree with another, that is perfectly fine. However, attacks on individuals is not acceptable in this thread. We cannot know what others have been through and experienced. We must respect them as individuals and respect their ideas.

I'll start by adding an entry to the list. Please give careful consideration to your entries. A brief or lengthy explanation of your choice will be welcomed. Discussions of items already on the list is welcome. Revisions are welcome. Respectful attitudes are required.

The structure and detail of "The List" is welcome to discussion. Discussion of the first post's structure is welcome. Opposing viewpoints are welcome on the list. This is our list. This will be a representation of our ideas and our beliefs. If you want to say something about our nation, say it. If you want to create a spark for the flame, do it. Nothing can change until we decide we're ready. Nothing can change until we communicate with each other. For the people who are not sure where to start, we start with our voices. Let us solidify our ideas and work from there.

    Here is my entry to "The List";

I would like to see school system be completely revamped. There is another thread on this board that clarifies. You can find it here: http://forum.grasscity.com/politics/635111-why-schools-dont-educate.html

The quote in the first post beautifully explains the problems with our educational system. Schools do not work right now. Schools mold people into something that is easy to control. The founder of our educational system admits that that is the intended purpose. Schools do not teach anything but obedience.

    The List

    -Reformation of education
-Amend the constitution so that a central bank can never be established.
    -Legalize the constitution
-Remove corporate control over our government

  2. Do we each do one thing per post?

Amend the constitution so that a central bank can never be established.

  3. That's a good question. I think we should start that way for clarity's sake.

  4. There might be a need for a few separate lists at some point, especially if people start posting about healthcare and stuff.

Maybe a Libertarian/anarchist list and a progressive/socialist/what have you list. Perhaps two different threads? The more right leaning people's thread, and the left thread. Then we can see what overlaps and the overlaps could be the basis for the revolution. The rest we could settle state by state, or if worst comes to worst, a civil war with foam swords.

  5. Haha, foam swords are the best.

I like the idea. I was thinking we could add some sort of pseudolist. One that points out what people want in a more general way. That way we can begin to see patterns emerge and work with that information if we can.

I'm a little reluctant to start segregating ideas into specific categorical lists, though. My thinking is that people may feel their ideas are being misrepresented when categorized a certain way. Separating into lists may also deter people from reading something under the socialist list if they happen to be against most socialist ideas.

Of course, as we get more entries we will probably have a better idea as to which way we should take this list.

    What are your thoughts?

  6. First we need to legalize the Constitution, then we can start amending it.

  7. I agree.

I'd like to add another entry to the list. Remove corporate control over our government. We separate church and state. Why don't we separate corporations and state?

Officials should be incapable of accepting bribes. Organizations should be incapable of accepting bribes. I don't know what sort of laws would be required to enforce this, but I know it needs to happen.

  8. The easiest way to remove corporate control over government would be to remove government control over corporations. If they have nothing to gain from government then they will not bribe government officials.

Otherwise you'd have to limit freedom of speech by restricting campaign contributions.

  9. But there needs to be a set of standards met by producers of products and food. That's where we run into some problems. Perhaps if citizens had an accurate way to check their food and products, we could separate government control over corporations.

Perhaps citizens could be issued proper tools for detecting problems with our foods and products.

We could use the internet to our advantage and set up sites for product reviews (which of course we already do) but somehow give the average person an incentive to report accurate data on what they purchase. I suggest this because research is often skewed because of funding by corporations with vested interest in a specific finding.

  10. Just get rid of it all.

    Problem solved.
