    The U.S. federal government spent over $19 billion dollars in 2003 on the War on Drugs, at a rate of about $600 per second. The budget has since been increased by over a billion dollars.

People Arrested for Drug Law Offenses this Year Arrests for drug law violations in 2009 are expected to exceed the 1,841,182 arrests of 2007. Law enforcement made more arrests for drug abuse violations (an estimated 1.8 million arrests, or 13.0 percent of the total number of arrests) than for any other offense in 2007.

    Someone is arrested for violating a drug law every 17 seconds.

  2. Yea ever since the start of the War on Drugs policy in early 70s it hasnt worked. Its incredibly pointless.

    And to add to that drug trafficking is 14th on the global trade list. Its a 400 billion dollar a year industry which includes drug cartels, drug mules, etc and of course all the violence that accompanies such an industry when its shrouded by the black market which of course we all know the war on drugs created. The United States spends over 400 million dollars a year to supply blackhawk helicopters to the columbian military in an effort to fight coca plantations.

    The war on drugs is one of the most prolonged, costly, (both monetarily and human life), and futile policies ever implemented in United States history.

    ya exatcly,you really know your shit.but idk what is it gonna have to come to,for the U.S to relize what there doing is a catastrophic waste of human resoursces and man power,if we used all that to better this country who knows were we would be.its really sad when you think about it.
