So I just caught this movie again last night.Probably like my 4th time.But I was wondering,was the last scene where we see Travis as the hero,forgiven and well liked.Was this just his last consious thoughts as he lay there dying on the couch.So that we can see how the character really thought his actions would be recieved by the world.However painfully wrong he would be.
Yeah I reckon Travis is actually dead at the end. The whole scene in the taxi with Betsy at the end isn't real. But Scorsese himself has denied it: Still, I prefer the death interpretation.
