Tar?

Discussion in 'Marijuana Consumption Q&A' started by funeralfab, Apr 17, 2013.

  1. Someone told me over the years that tar builds up in your lungs when it comes to smoking weed. What do you guys think? And this person even said there's no way to take it out unless you quit altogether.. Got me a little depressed

  2. Research into vaporizers if you are concerned with tar

  3. Did someone from D.A.R.E tell you this?

  4. No just one of my stoner friends

  5. Your lungs have ways of expunging tars.
Also these tars that you speak of are harmless and do not cause cancer.

  6. Luckily the tar in mairjuana is repelled by our lungs nuclei and it kills it basically :) Unlike tobacco, as it stays and kills your lungs.

  7. Not true at all! Smoking anything will increase your risk for cancer. Not so much the plant its the act of smoking. The plant actually has cancer fighting properties. Smoking it is not your only option.

  8. Are you saying the lungs do not cleanse themselves of tars because they do...Pretty sure something as simple as coughing helps your lungs stay clean.

You say Marijuana has healing properties but you said all smoke increases risk of cancer. This made me wtf

  9. All types of smoke can be cancerous to a human, the cannabis plant has properties that fight against cancer.

  10. Therefore it doesn't cause cancer!
Am I speaking another language or what???

  11. Im not saying they don't clean themselves. they do, to a point. But PERMANENT damage can take place that coughing wont heal. Again not because of the plant, because of SMOKING.

Think this would be a good read for ya. ;)

I get inhaling smoke isn't good for you but the effects of marijuana on the lungs are minimal and reverse after time of abstaining.

There are many studies that prove that marijuana not only reverses the metastasis of developing cancers but doesn't cause it TO BEGIN WITH.

    But im mis-informed

  14. Haha okay sorry just don't start out with "harmless and does not cause cancer" and yes like I said marijuana doesnt cause cancer to begin with, the act of smoking does. Are you seeing how they are seperate things now?

  15. My bad just saw your first post. :smoking:
You posted a link from eHow...lol
They aren't talking about marijuana bro.

  16. The amount of tar in weed isn't really anything to fret about.

It takes a lot of weed smoking to get "heavy lungs" from the tar.

Taking a t-break and doing exercise can clear it out fairly quickly.

People mostly think the tar is super bad for you, because cigarettes contain a SHIT TON of tar.

  17. Dude what he's saying is yes, weed does prevent cancer.
But smoking ANYTHING is bad for you. Yeah maybe the weed can counter the tar a little but basically not 100%.
Vaporizers and edibles could give you the best results.

  18. No, at least the way I see it is if marijuana fights cancer then it wouldn't be able to begin in the first place.

What you are saying would give reason to believe that a large portion of marijuana smokers develop cancer from their huge intake of smoke but thats simply not true. Numbers don't lie.

From what iv'e read people who smoke tobacco and marijuana have less chance of developing cancer.

  19. Goddamn read the link you post before you post it.. Weed doesn't cause cancer. And it's not even talking about cancer dude. And when you say the "act" of smoking causes cancer then you are completely contradicting yourself because what else are you smoking?.. Marijuana. So please don't go around giving out false information. And smoking is just another way to activate the thc.

Marijuana has minimal bad effects on the lungs that reverse after time of not smoking.

It bugs me how so many people say "Smoking is bad"...okay follow up with why?

If you're smoking cigs it's bad because it's going to kill you. If it marijuana it's bad because you might have shorter breaths.
Smokeygenie is right I am misinformed but simply because I don't remember what effects marijuana has on the lungs.
But again I can assure you that the tar is HARMLESS.

Ehow is some biased shit.
