Taking over an apartment lease

  1. I'm trying to get a lease transferred from em into a friends apartment. Its a nice place and cheap.
When you take over a elase do you have to pay the original deposits? I wouldnt think so since there is already an active lease but I'm not sure

  2. You shouldn't. My friend just did the same thing and didn't have to. But I still live with the 'rents, so maybe someone else can tell you for sure.

  3. Usually, the person who is getting out of the lease has to pay a couple hundred to get out, and you just take over the normal rent payments. There should not be any deposit or anything like that, other than the normal rent.

At least, this is what my apartment complex people told me.
