I've heard u can take a cutting from a plant outdoors and put it in sugar water n root starter and under 12/12 and it will show its sex. Has anyone ever tried this?
I'm doing this right now actually. I started taking clones and put them immediately in 12/12 to determine sex. The clones rooted within 5 days and now I'm just waiting for the preflowers to start coming in. It's a good way to show sex without throwing the whole plant into flower and risking a short season. Most strains should show sex once they get 6-8 sets of true leaves started from seed. You could cut clones root them and put them in 12/12 but they wons show sex unless the mother was already sexually mature, I never herd of using sugar water.
