hello all. i am considering buying a few 2 ft t5 lights or possibly a compact flouescent 150 watt. i was wondeing if these would be beneficial to have in addition to my 400 watt hps. the room is for budding and i could get veg. flouros or flowering ones. my question is do you think i should put the extra money into these flourescents. i am guessing having side light would bush the plants out alot.
I put two extra cfl's that were a 100 watt each and not including the 400 watt hps and i think it helps. Having a broad spectrum is like having dinner and then having desert. You can be ok just on eating dinner but if you have desert you will be much happier. They love the flourose plus it gets the under growth a little more light.
It depends on the size of your grow space, how many plants, size of plants, etc, but general rule is the more light the better.
my flowering room is 4 feet by four feet and is 6 ft tall. the hps is centered in the center of the room at the top. i hope this helps give you an idea. and thank you both 4 replying.
