Chronic Pain Strains for TN

Discussion in 'Medical Marijuana Usage and Applications' started by morgan33, Oct 20, 2022.

  1. Hey everyone, was just wondering what strains any Trigeminal Neuralgia (TN) patients have found useful? My pain specialist has cleared me for use of MMJ but I have no clue where to start. I have tried CBD oil and that helped with insomnia but the pain was still intense. Thank you!

  2. My Father in Law suffered with TN for most of his adult life but was way to Anti Cannabis for me to consider offering it to him. RIP Harry (You-betcha).

Cannabis is a funny drug when it comes to what it will and will not help with. Experimentation is Key.

THC = Stone and usually the part doing the majority of the work.
CBD = Anti-Stone. It takes the sharp edge off to high a THC ratio and can ease a bad trip on edibles.
Terpenes = This is the group of aromatics that gives all the incredible range of Cannabis smells.

Inhalation and Alcohol Tinctures will both give a fast hitting but short lived Delta-9-THC high. 45 minutes to a few hours depending on the individual.

Edibles are a whole different game. Your Liver converts Delta-9-THC into the much stronger and far longer lasting 11-Hydroxy-THC. This takes an hour or two to get going but can last 6 to 24 hours again depending on the persons reaction to the drug. We all have different amounts of the Liver enzyme that does the conversion and what works for me is 10 times what most people are hammered on.

Cannabis silences the dragon in my belly left from 3 rounds of Colon surgery and the Adhesions they caused. It lubricates many other aches and pains that advancing age brings as well. It's only when I stop taking my Cannabis that all the back, knees, shoulders and hand issues come a calling again.

  3. Take a quick look at lions mane mushroom suppliments. Lions mane can help with nerve related issues. It acually has ngf (nerve growth factor) and can repair nerve damage.

A good indica should help with pain and sleep. Best of luck.

  4. That's super interesting! I'll see if we can get it in Australia. :)
