Soil2Coco’s Rootbound Multifeed 3 strain SOG

Discussion in 'Coco Coir' started by Soil2Coco, Oct 12, 2018.

  1. I will only have about 5-6 weeks from today to veg these feminized seeds so we’re going to do 9 this time. I’ve soaked the Royal Gold Tupur with URB inoculate I got in Portland. I think I’m going to try Aptus supplements with Masterblend base nutrients since they were nice enough to supply the whole line. I’ll be starting in solo cups for about 2 weeks, then transplant to one gallon pots of Tupur, where they will stay until finish. They will be fed 2 times daily fr M my auto drip system after transplant to one gallon pot, to 20% waste.

    Now on to the strains

    3x Grandpas Stash- Ethos Genetics
Ethos Genetics - Grandpas Stash Feminized

3x Granddaddy Black- Original Sensible Seeds
Buy Original Sensible Seeds Grandaddy Black FEM | Original Seeds Store

    3x Ricks Pupil- Mass Medical
Mass Medical Strains | Star Pupil | Medical Cannabis Info | Rick's Pupil

Hopefully this journal will help some of the newer coco growers, see the benefits of feeding your plants 2-3!times daily. Enjoy!!

  3. Germination

Seeds have been placed in 5.5 ph water. They will soak overnight. Once the seed has sunk, it’s ready to be planted. Push 1/4” into premoistened coco and cover. 1-3 days later, plant emerges.

  4. No Scarifying ..?

    No Surfactant ..?

    yeah OK

  5. If a seed is viable, it will grow. If it sinks, it’s viable. No need to complicate a very simple process.

  6. How do you premoisten coco? How do you know too wet, too dry?

  7. I just soak it with a root booster or inoculant the day before planting. With Tupur, you can’t over water. It soaks up what it needs and the rest drains right out. Really easy to grow in.

  8. Those peat pots actually can hinder root growth and cause ph drop as it decays. Transplanting if done right has no shock to the plants. I want mine rootbound anyway so once they fill the solo cup, they will stay in one gallon pots to the end.

  9. I have heard that but have not experienced it - I want to use a hydro cloner - but it is way more work so dont know if I will ever change - I do good with what I have usually 4 for 4 on my clones

  10. Are you going to change your name to Soil2Coco2Soil2Coco? I'll be watching brother. :)

  11. if you can afford a pump, rubbermade tub, a dome, a little pvc, some misting sprayers, and 10 days/cycle you can hydro clone really easy and see what’s going on during the process:

  13. That’s funny!! I actually have my 4x4 in coco DTW, and my new 2x4 scrog area will be for soil, or any other experiments. Almost went with a DWC setup again, but talked myself back into the coco. It’s just easier

  14. No work with a hydro cloner at all. It’s set it and forget it. Look at the roots I came home too.

  15. Some of this is going to seem repetitive and common sense to you experienced guys, but bear in mind I’m going to be directing some new growers here to get started.

So all the seeds have sunk as of 6:00 tonight. After dinner, I proceeded to plant all 9 feminized seeds.

I mixed up 2 ml of URB in 1/2 liter of 6.0 ph water. Used a sharpie to punch a 1/2” deep hole in the center of each cup, and planted each seed using the sharpie (liquid adhesion). Just cover over with coco and tap lightly. Spray the surface of each cup and put a sandwich bag over top to keep moist.

  16. Looks good man, and I have had the same issues with the so called dissolving pots. I personally do not like them I feel it is too difficult for the roots to push through and plants take off quickly after a transplanting anyway so I don't see the point. I also hate anything that affects ph cause ph is way too important to play around with.

  17. All three granddaddy blacks were first to break ground. Two Grandpas Stash have emerged and a Ricks Pupil has too. Waiting for three more to germinate then it’s seedling stage.

Built and hung the new qb96elite v2 engines over the scrog area today too.

  18. All 9 seeds have sprouted and the seedling phase has begun. I sprayed the perimeter with more of the URB innoculant, and fed a shot glass of 1/4 strength Masterblend 4-18-38 nutes with silica.

Notice how close the seedlings are to the light. 3-4” away. This will keep from stretching and the 6500k bulbs will make nice tight nodes
