The miracle-gro has time release nutrients. I don't recommend it for a beginner. Some plants will do good in it, and some are just too sensitive for the amount of nutes that get released when you water. Do you plan on using nutrients?
You want something very plain with only perlite + vermiculite so that later in your grow you can add nutes that you wish.
