Soil question

Discussion in 'Growing Marijuana Indoors' started by RTH, Oct 5, 2007.

  1. For an indoor grow, Does anyone have recomendations for how many cubic feet of soil should I use per plant?

  2. It depends on how big you want your plants. I like 3' tall bushes, so I use a 3 gallon pot filled with Promix. Most people growing indoors on a non-commercial level have to worry about available space so they tend to grow smaller plants, which in turn require less soil.

I guess before anyone can answer your question you need to let us know how much light you have and type (ie. 400w HPS or 23w CFL), how many plants you want to grow, and what your ideal final weight will be.

  3. HPS 400 Watt.

For now I have four 5 gallon buckets under the lights and I'll leave the plants there to mature. But, for the next grow, I'd like to use square pots that are 10"X10"X10.25". I can easily place 6 of those under the lights footprint. Basically I was just wondering if these posts would hold enough soil to do the job sufficiently.

    Thanks for the reply.

    Peace
