Soil pH...

  1. I checked the pH of the runoff water from one of my plants today and it was 5.45. I want to bring that up a little and I was wondering if a very small amount of Lye (sodium hydroxide) would be safe for my plants.

  2. i wouldn't worry about it. as long as everything you pour in is properly ph'd, you should be good to go.

  3. Holy crap! I just checked the pH of my tap water and it came out to 7.50, which is normal. I then mixed up a batch of the nutrient solution I've been using (Fox Farm Tiger Bloom mixed as directed with tap water) and tested the pH; 3.43!!! I even checked the calibration on my pH meter and it was spot-on. No wonder the runoff is so low! Is lye safe for MJ plants is very, very small amounts? If not, does anyone know af a quick and easy way to raise it?
