sobriety?

  1. So I don't have a problem with staying sober... but I've been blazing chronically for quite some time and now that I've quit I'm just bored.. a lot. All my friends smoke and thats pretty much the first(or only) thing we do when we meetup. I'm really active and do sports but I've forgotten how to meet and hangout with people without bud. how does one exist without? lol

*If anyone says weed isn't addictive or detrimental I will cockslap you into oblivion, been there done that

  2. Yeah Shits weird isn't it? :smoking:

  3. Weed isn't physically addictive or detrimental. ;)

It's when you lose self control it becomes the issue. Don't blame the substance blame your habits.

  4. Find a hobby, join that hobby's forums, meet people with same passions.

Best advice you'll find right here.

    Occupy your mind.

  6. After a 3 month t-break, and daily smoking for 4-5 years I was actually disappointed when I smoked again.. I mean it's ok, just not something I want to do all the time anymore

  7. This thread speaks to me. I'm about 1-1/2 months into a t break and I feel the clarity I've been missing. The last time I fell off was due to emotional reasons. I've been feeling lately that I need to do some growing up. We change and that's fine.....

And to op I feel you. I've been hanging with my friends while they smoke and I just sit there. It sucks but it makes you realize you need to get on your grind and get your life to take off.

  8. I've been sober for over 3 years now.

I now see that it does consume your life, while not dangerous, I saw how much money went into smoking weed, when I could of spent 1/100 of that.

My GF smokes very rarely and she seems to enjoy the high very much, unlike the everyday every hour smokers who seem to have a ball and chain.

You don't have to quit completely, just do it like once a month.

Weed is beautiful as long as you're in control and not your addiction.

  9. the defining characteristic of an addiction is that it makes you lose self control.. slowly but surely, especially if you're toking multiple times a day every day

I got to the point where I actually stopped getting high when I smoked. Then I had to ask myself wtf am I doing this?

but yes if you can toke in moderation weed is amazing

  10. FOR YOU its not physically addictive, for others it could be completely different.

All weed argument aside this statement is ridiculous, physical addiction is not something that differs between people, if it is physically addictive, you will become addicted after a period.

  12. oh so you getting physically addicted or not defines everyone else's chances of it happening to them?

everyone is different. not everyone will get addicted, and not everyone will be able to handle the charm it holds.

You misunderstand, I am not saying you can't get addicted to weed, you absolutely can, it is, however, not 'physically' addictive in the same way as crack or nicotine. That is why I said all weed arguments aside.

  14. Physical addiction would refer to real problems with your body, I.E. withdrawling from certain other drugs. "Withdrawl" from marijuana is nothing more than mental addiction (mood swings, wanting to smoke, being bored, etc).

So no, no one can get physically addicted to marijuana. At no point will you throw up, shit yourself, have seizures, cold sweats, and DT's from quitting marijuana.. so I will reiterate, no physical addiction.

  15. fuck i hate sobriety, kinda im fine when im with my family but when im alone which is from 7 am to 6 pm erryday im like gggggggggggggggggrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr fuck like right now

  16. im just arguing politely, so dont take offense.

but in your first post, you said weed isnt physically addictive, period.

and now youre saying its not as physically addictive as crack or nicotene, theres a difference. thats all ;]

dude, throwing up and shitting yourself arent requirements of having physical addiction.

they can be as minimal as stressing out, or just not being hungry and other small things.

  17. No.

Stressing and loss of appetite are nothing more than a mental stimulus.

A physical addiction is something that puts you at risk of death if your body doesn't get what it needs.

Marijuana isn't something your body "needs" after it's gone, thus you can't have physical addiction from marijuana.

You can continue to argue your voided point of view, but you're arguing against scientific evidence.. because it's been tested over and over, marijuana is not physically addictive.

For fucks sake, the ignorance of some people.

Sorry I said ridiculous your right, let's keep it polite :) but your are not understanding, I am not contradicting my self, physical addiction is a class of addiction caused by chemical reactions in the brain, the addiction that may occur with weed is a psychological addiction, if you were to stop saying 'physically' addictive I would be agreeing with everything you said :)
