Anyone on here ever snap a timing chain??? What a pain in the ass with an interference engine! I just snapped my first one on the highway at 5500RPM... took out 4 valves now my head is in the machine shop being repaired... cant wait to get it back next Wednesday to throw it back on!!
Ooo, on an interference engine? That's got to be a bitch. Did you damage any pistons in addition to the valves? I've never had a timing chain snap myself, but I've blown enough manifolds to make up for it I think.
Job is now done... running great.. 9 days, $600 and 9 valves... did all the work myself... the actual job didn't take long but the long weekend got me and the head needed to be rebuilt.
